Chapter I
We Don't Make Candles
✦
Every vessel begins with an obsession.
A constellation.
A poisonous flower.
An old superstition.
A whispered legend.
Or a moment the night sky refused to forget.
We chase the fragrance that brings something back.
The memory it carries with it.
The feeling that survives long after the flame has gone out.
What we make is a keeping—
an object built to hold a story until someone is ready to receive it.
We don't make candles.
We preserve stories.
